Meet Lex Fransche, a London-based guitarist and producer whose distinctive sound and effortless style have made him a rising name in the London music scene. As the guitarist for Yellow Days, Lex brings a raw, soulful energy to the band’s psychedelic-infused sound, blending rhythms with lush, expressive tones.

BLOOM recently caught up with Lex to see how he would style our brand-new Brown Western Belt. We met at our friend and BLOOM collaborator, Brennan Bucannan’s photography studio in East London, where we caught up and spoke about all things music and style.
Beyond his work with Yellow Days, Lex has carved out his own identity as a producer and musician, drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of records and eras. We love his solo project and particularly his song, How Many Tries. In our conversation, we dive into his early influences, the albums that shaped his approach to guitar, and how his love for timeless fashion informs his personal style. We also talk about his favorite London spots and what’s next on the horizon—including new music, live shows, and fresh creative projects.

1. Can you share your journey as a musician?
Where did your passion for music begin, and what inspired you to pursue it as a full-time career?
It started very young, I grew up with a music loving family. My uncle is an amazing guitarist, producer, singer, songwriter. My father was a classical musician and my mother would take me to live shows from a very young age. Everyone else in my family has amazing music taste.
I’ve always wanted to do it full time, since I can remember. Making and playing music is the only thing that facilitates the rawest version of myself. I was always into my own things and music allowed me to lean into those things and freak out. It was an easy decision.
2. What are some of the songs you heard growing up that had an impact on the way you play guitar?
I never really listened to just songs - it would always be the full record.
I’m always picking up new things, constantly discovering more. My sound is of course an amalgamation of everything I’ve loved to this day.
Some records I always go back to are :-
Eddie Hazel - Games, Dames, Guitar Thangs
Snuggie Otis - Inspiration Information
Unknown mortal orchestra - sex and food
Of course there are more but we’d be here for a while.
3. Let’s talk fashion—you look great in the BLOOM Western Belt!
What’s your go-to outfit, and are there any brands or trends you’re particularly excited about right now?
My go-to outfit would definitely be a good pair of jeans, a leather jacket, leather shoes or a classic sneaker. I'm really into accessories, fitted baseball caps are a staple and a good pair of black glasses depending on the mood I’m in. I’m always wearing my jewellery.
I’m slow with trends, I prefer well made shit as it speaks for itself and never goes out of fashion.
As far as brands go I like the classics - preferably when the designer was alive. I do love Double RL, Purple Label.
4. What are your favorite spots in London?
Tell us your top picks for a coffee shop, restaurant, and pub.
I don’t eat out as much as I used to. I cook a lot, so my list isn’t long.
Barrafina on Dean Street is a go to for sure, it’s consistent. I like sitting on the pass watching the chef’s cook and plate the food.
Lore Of The Land in Fitzrovia is my go to pub. Definitely a stomping ground for my team.
I drink too much coffee to have one spot, I'm open to suggestions.
5. What’s next for Lex Fransche?
New records, a lot of them. Which calls for more live LEX FRANSCHE. A lot more visual stuff too. I’m excited to shoot videos. There will be a lot more for people to sink their teeth into - that's part of this year’s goal.
